- Aly Monroe was born and educated in England. She has spent a large part of her life abroad – mostly in Spain, where she worked as a teacher, translator and voice-over. She is married and has three children. ‘The Maze of Cadiz’ , published in 2008, is her first novel, and also the first in the Peter Cotton series. ‘Washington Shadow’ ,published in 2009, is the second Peter Cotton book and was shortlisted for the CWA Ellis Peters Historical Fiction Award. The third novel of the series, 'Icelight', is due out in October 2011.
